Julia Kelly joined the firm in 2020 after serving eight years as a Judge Advocate (JAG) in the United States Army. In 2013, Julia deployed to Afghanistan as the legal advisor to a Special Operations Task Force, and in 2014, she was selected to be the first female JAG assigned to an Army Special Forces battalion. In the following 5 years, she litigated cases as a military prosecutor, Special Victim’s Counsel, and Special Assistant United States Attorney. Julia also provided legal oversight on hundreds of administrative actions and investigations into various issues, such as sexual harassment, equal opportunity, retaliation, federal ethics practices, and Government fiscal law. Julia’s current practice focuses on defense of civil rights and government liability claims.
In her free time, Julia enjoys cooking, hiking, long-distance running, and golf.
